A beautiful outdoor kitchen should do more than add appliances to a backyard. It should create a space where cooking, entertaining, and everyday outdoor living feel effortless.
For this Tampa, Florida outdoor kitchen project, Cookin’ Outdoors completely transformed an existing outdoor kitchen into a custom 14-linear-foot cooking and entertaining space designed around the homeowners’ lifestyle, existing Big Green Egg, and Florida’s demanding outdoor environment.
The finished result combines custom concrete cabinetry, natural stone veneer, granite countertops, premium outdoor appliances, and a professionally ducted range hood into one cohesive outdoor kitchen.
The project began with the demolition and removal of the existing outdoor kitchen, which was positioned against the home.
Rather than simply replacing the old cabinetry, Cookin’ Outdoors created a completely custom layout that maximized the available space while incorporating everything the homeowners wanted for outdoor cooking.
The result is a 14-foot custom outdoor kitchen built completely out of custom poured concrete panels, with durable stone veneer façade and granite countertops.
One of the defining features of all our projects is the custom concrete cabinetry.
Cookin’ Outdoors uses noncombustible concrete construction for our outdoor kitchen builds, creating cabinetry designed specifically for floridian outdoor environments.
The cabinetry was finished with a carefully selected stone veneer and topped with granite that complements the stone, creating a high-end architectural appearance while maintaining the durability needed for outdoor living in Tampa.
The combination of concrete, stone, and granite gives the kitchen a substantial, built-in appearance rather than the look of a rapidly replaceable or flamable outdoor appliance setup.
At the center of the kitchen is a Blaze LTE PRO 32-inch four-burner natural gas grill, complete with a digital temperature display and rotisserie.
A 32-inch double access door provides storage beneath the grill, keeping the cooking area functional and organized.
Next to the grill, a Blaze LTE+ natural gas double side burner adds another cooking surface for sauces, side dishes, boiling water, or anything else that needs to happen alongside the main grill.
The side burner is paired with a double access drawer underneath for convenient storage.
Together, the grill and side burner create a versatile natural-gas cooking station designed for everything from weeknight dinners to larger backyard gatherings.

The homeowners already had a Large Big Green Egg, so the new kitchen was designed to incorporate it into the overall structure.
Rather than treating the smoker as a separate piece of equipment, Cookin’ Outdoors built a custom concrete platform specifically for the Big Green Egg.
The platform was finished with granite on the top, back, and sides, creating a seamless transition between the smoker and the rest of the kitchen.
A stainless-steel access drawer underneath provides additional storage while keeping the area around the smoker clean and functional.
One of the most dramatic elements of the kitchen is the 72-inch Proline wall-mounted range hood.
The hood features:
Cookin’ Outdoors also constructed a custom chimney surrounding the hood, incorporating the same stone veneer and granite used throughout the kitchen.
This helps the large hood feel integrated into the architecture rather than simply mounted onto the wall.
The kitchen also includes a 30-inch undermount sink and faucet, connected to the home's existing outdoor water and drainage lines.
A double access door beneath the sink provides convenient access to the plumbing and storage area.
The kitchen also includes a pull-out trash and recycling bin, keeping cleanup supplies and waste management incorporated directly into the cabinetry.
These details may not be the most noticeable parts of an outdoor kitchen, but they make a significant difference in how functional the space is once it is actually being used.
When Cookin’ Outdoors is done, you are cookin'! Our team will hook up all existing utilities.
The new kitchen was connected to the existing:
Plumbing:
Existing outdoor water and drain lines were utilized for the sink.
Electrical:
The kitchen includes an appliance outlet inside the outdoor kitchen, a convenience outlet on the face of the kitchen, and a dedicated outlet for the range hood.
Natural Gas:
The grill and side burner were connected to the existing natural-gas supply within the outdoor kitchen.
Integrating these systems into the construction allows the finished kitchen to function as a true extension of the home rather than a collection of individual outdoor appliances.
The finishes were also sourced locally in Tampa.
The stone veneer was selected from Tile Outlets of America on West Hillsborough Avenue, while the granite was selected from Acme Stone on North Cortez Avenue.
These materials bring warmth and natural texture to the otherwise substantial concrete construction, creating the balance between architectural durability and luxury outdoor design.
The goal of this project wasn't simply to build a place to grill.
It was to create a complete outdoor cooking environment with dedicated areas for grilling, smoking, food preparation, washing, storage, ventilation, and cleanup, all within one cohesive 14-foot design.
From the custom concrete cabinetry to the stone-wrapped range hood, every component was designed to work together.
The finished kitchen is a perfect example of what is possible when an outdoor kitchen is approached as custom construction and design, rather than moveable appliance installation.
